Overview DatesTypical DayCourses Life at JK/CR

7:30 AM Resident Wake-up
Residential students live in air-conditioned dormitories on campus. Rooms are singles, doubles, triples or quads. Residential counselors live on each floor with the students and wake them every morning. Feel like starting your day even earlier? Try the optional Early Morning Trail Run at 6:45.

8:00 AM Morning Line-up and Forum
Students and staff get together for announcements and program business, during which all residential students have a chance to discuss any items of interest.

8:15 AM Breakfast
Enjoy the most important meal of the day the Julian Krinsky/ Canyon Ranch way — in our comfortable dining room or on the veranda with your friends, looking forward to the morning’s activities. In addition to cereal, breads, bagels and fresh-baked Canyon Ranch muffins, there is always a hot breakfast such as pancakes and eggs, as well as yogurt, fresh fruit and berries.

8:45 AM Day Students Arrive
Our location on Philadelphia’s suburban Main Line makes it practical for many campers to attend as day students. They check in, listen to the announcements and pick up their schedule for the day.

9:00 AM Activities, Classes and Workshops
You go your own way according to your activity schedule. You can choose from activities as varied as kickboxing, Spinning®, yoga, chi gong, biking, art expression, meditation, aqua aerobics, sleep and stress workshops, cardio circuit and lots more. Students follow their personal schedules of multiple activities and workshops. Want to see a sample week? Just give us a call or visit jkcp.com.

12:45 PM – 1:30 PM Lunch
Lunch is available after the last morning class ends. Now it’s time to take a break, relax with friends and choose from the generous salad bar, sandwiches, and selection of Canyon Ranch-designed entrees. Two things you don’t want to miss: The latest creations from Canyon Ranch Chef Scott Uhlein, and our famously fabulous chocolate- chip cookies!

1:30 PM – 3:30 PM Afternoon Program
Some of our afternoon activities include Personal Services for Day Students, strength basics, Pilates® mat, tennis and golf, healthy cooking, journaling, and book-store trips.

3:45 PM Day Camp Students Depart
Ordinarily, Day Students leave at 3:45, but they have the option of extending their day to the end of the second activity period, or through dinner and the evening program (additional cost).

3:30 PM – 5:30 PM Second Activities Program
Personal Services such as exercise physiology, personal training, massages, nail and skin care services, and private tennis and golf lessons are offered at this time.

5:30 PM Evening Forum, Mail Call, and Dinner
Since every evening is different, we gather before dinner to update you on the evening’s activities and distribute the mail. Then it’s off to dinner, with an ever-changing selection of innovative Canyon Ranch entrees made with the freshest, finest, healthiest ingredients available. There are plenty of delicious choices, including vegetarian dishes, too.

Evening Activities
Every evening, you’ll enjoy organized activities, both on and off campus. Some of the on-campus activities include dances, video nights, karaoke, special guest speakers and — for something completely different — "Dress the Counselor," where you get to "help" some of your fashion-challenged counselors. Off-campus activities include swim parties, skating, bowling, movies at the multiplex, trips to the mall or bookstore, 4th of July fireworks, outdoor concerts, Beat Street dance parties and coffee houses.
