Internships Typical Day

Julian Krinsky Camps & Programs

At your internship position, on campus at Penn and during the weekends, there will always be something interesting and fun to do. Here’s a typical day:

7:45 A.M. — Wake-up

You’ll be living in the Quad, Penn’s famous complex of residence halls.

8:15 — Breakfast

Use your Summer Penn Card and start your day with breakfast at 1920 Commons.

9:00 — Work Day Begins

We’ll provide convenient transportation to your internship.

Midday — Lunch

You’ll decide what to do for lunch. Brown-bag it, join some of your colleagues at a nearby restaurant, or find a comfortable spot to enjoy some take-out. Lunch is on you, so budget accordingly.

5:00 — Return to Penn

Work’s done so now it’s your time. Why not go for a run or hit the gym? Maybe take it easy and socialize, compare notes with a friend, spend a little time on the Internet or just relax with something to read.

6:30 — Dinner

Most evenings we dine together at 1920 Commons. Each Friday, we’ll wrap up the work week with dinner at a local restaurant.

7:30 — Evening Activities, Seminars and Workshops

There’s something different on the agenda every night.

Optional Evening Seminars and Workshops

Guest speakers will offer optional workshops on topics such as these:

  • Entrepreneurship
  • Leadership Seminar
  • Business Etiquette
  • Dress for Success
  • Getting the Most Out of College

Evening Activities and Optional Sunday Trips

With so much going on in and around Philadelphia, you’ll never have a problem finding something fun to do. Whether you stay on campus or go downtown, there are scheduled activities to interest everyone. Join a group for a trip to the movies, a museum, a baseball game or an outdoor concert.

And if you just feel like hanging around the dorm with your new friends, that’s OK too. There are lots of restaurants, shops and entertainment options you can walk to from Penn, including the Penn Bookstore, Eastern Mountain Sports, Ann Taylor Loft, Starbucks and The Gap.

Sports options include swimming, bowling and lessons from the Julian Krinsky Schools of Tennis and Golf.

Your Choice of Saturday Trips

Two trips are offered each Saturday. You chose the one you want. We leave on air-conditioned motor coaches after breakfast and return in the evening. Click here for this summer’ schedule, subject to change. Weekend Trips and Destinations.
