Model UN Typical Day

Julian Krinsky Camps & Programs

At your Model UN sessions and workshops, on campus at Penn and during the weekends, there will always be something interesting and fun to do. Here’s a typical day:

8:00 A.M. — Wake-up

You’ll be living right on the University of Pennsylvania campus, in the famous Quadrangle.

8:15 — Breakfast

Use your Summer Penn Card and start your day with breakfast on campus at 1920 Commons.

9:00 — Morning Workshops

You’ll attend workshops throughout the morning on world politics, current events, international relations theory and case studies of international incidents.

12:00— Lunch

You’ll have the choice of lunching with your fellow students at one of the University’s many dining facilities.

1:30— Afternoon Workshops, Research and Guest Speakers

Learn essential public speaking, debating and negotiating skills. Spend time developing research methods you’ll use to prepare for the Model UN. You’ll also meet with prestigious guest speakers on international relations topics.

3:30— Afternoon Activities

Leave work behind and spend the afternoon your way. Play Frisbee in the Quad or catch some rays. E-mail your friends back home, go for a workout at the gym, grab a frappuccino at Starbucks or visit the bookstore.

6:30 — Dinner

Most evenings we’ll dine together on campus at 1920 Commons.

7:30 — Evening Activities

Every night there’s something different on the agenda. With all of Philadelphia at your doorstep, there’s always a lot to do.

Evening Activities and Optional Sunday Trips

Whether you stay on campus or go downtown, there are scheduled activities to interest everyone. And if you just feel like hanging around the dorm with your new friends, that’s OK too. There are lots of restaurants, shops and entertainment options you can walk to from Penn, including the Penn Bookstore, Eastern Mountain Sports, Ann Taylor Loft, Starbucks and The Gap.

Sports options include swimming, bowling and lessons from the Julian Krinsky Schools of Tennis and Golf.

Your Choice of Saturday Trips

Two or three trips are offered each Saturday. You chose the one you want. We leave after breakfast and return in the evening. Click here for this summer’ schedule, subject to change. Weekend Trips and Destinations.
