Senior Enrichment Typical Day

Julian Krinsky Camps & Programs

We know campers have the most fun, make the most friends, and get the most out of camp when they’re with other campers of the same age. Our senior campers can look forward to a great summer experience, designed and conducted specifically for their age group.

Life at Senior Academic Enrichment Camp is fun and filled with activity. Mornings are devoted to your chosen classes, while afternoons are a mix of recreation, enrichment workshops, off-campus trips and sports. There’s always something interesting to do! Here’s a typical day:

Morning Program

7:45 A.M. — Residential Camper Wake-up

Campers live in single or double room on campus. Residential counselors stay on the same floor with their assigned groups.

8:15 — Morning Lineup

Residential campers and staff get together for announcements. Campers have a chance to bring up any items of interest or concern.

8:30 — Breakfast

Meals are served cafeteria-style in the dining center. Choices include cereal, bagels, daily baked breads, fruit, yogurt, pancakes, eggs, breakfast meats and potatoes.

8:45 — Day Campers Arrive

Day campers check in at the New Residence Hall.

9:00 — Morning Classes

Campers follow their personal schedules of Major, Focus and Discovery Track classes.

Noon — Lunch

Menu selections include hot and vegetarian meals, deli sandwiches, salad bar and a dessert table.

Afternoon Program

1:00 — Afternoon Discovery

Camper’s schedule these workshops on a weekly basis. Many Morning Discovery classes are available along with additional subjects. Click here for a comprehensive list: Afternoon Discovery

2:30 — First Afternoon Activities Period

Campers sign up on the previous day for Sports, Off-Campus Trips or Recreation.

4:00 — Day Campers Depart

Day campers have the option of extending their day to either 5:00 p.m. or through dinner and the evening program (additional cost).

4:00 — Second Afternoon Activities Period

Sports, Off-Campus Trips or Recreation.

Evening Program

5:15 — Evening Forum

We get together before dinner to update you on the evening's schedule.

5:30 — Dinner

Choose from favorites like pasta, lasagna, pizza, turkey, chicken, beef, fish, vegetarian, hotdogs, hamburgers, tacos and burritos. Don't forget the full salad bar and dessert table.

Evening Activities

Every evening students enjoy organized activities, both on and off campus. Activities change depending on what’s available, but this list gives you a pretty good idea of what to expect.

Weekend Trips

Three trips are offered each Saturday. You choose the one you want. We leave on air-conditioned motor coaches after breakfast and return in the evening. Click here for this summer’s schedule, subject to change: Weekend Trips and Destinations.

Sunday Is Your Day

If you need to sleep in, Sunday is the day to do it. Have brunch when you’re ready then spend the morning your way. Later on, we’ll take a trip to the swim club, a baseball game, a museum or other Philadelphia attractions.
