Yesh Shabbat

A Fully Realized Jewish Life

A traditional observant community where campers live, learn and grow as young Jews, Yesh Shabbat will provide memories that last far beyond this summer — including a unique and memorable Shabbat experience.

Shabbat — We are a Shomer Shabbat program. While we respect and cherish individual family customs, we have a uniform and halachic standard of observance. Every camper is expected to attend Shabbat Tefilah services, led by our rabbi, counselors and campers. During the afternoon, campers can participate in a wide variety of Shabbat-appropriate activities. Discussion and learning groups are held on various topics.

Kashrut — Our dining facilities are Glatt Kosher under orthodox rabbinical supervision. When meat is served, a vegetarian alternative is always available. A highlight of the week is our fully catered Shabbat dinner.

Tefilah — Daily minyanim are held in our Beit Knesset. Tefilah is attended three times a day by all campers and staff.

Torah Study — Throughout the week, campers will put their activities aside to take part in Torah discussion and learning seminars moderated by our rabbi, staff and guest speakers. The areas of study will address subjects of interest and concern to our campers.

Added Attractions

Every evening our resident counselors and programming staff provide a variety of entertaining things to do such as talent shows, camp Olympics, game show night and more. Other evenings, we’ll go off campus to the movies, bowling, ice skating, or shopping at the King of Prussia Mall.

Every Sunday campers leave after breakfast for an exciting day trip to places like Great Adventure, Hershey Park or New York City. Trips are $155 per weekend, including travel on air-conditioned excursion coaches and entertainment and recreational admissions. Click here for this summer’s schedule, subject to change. Weekend Trips and Destinations

Yesh Shabbat is held at Cabrini College, a private college conveniently located on Philadelphia's prestigious Main Line, a half-hour from Center City and about two hours from New York City. Cabrini features a park-like 112 acre campus with excellent classroom and sports facilities.

Boys and girls have separate accommodations. Most students have comfortable double, triple or quad air-conditioned rooms furnished with a bed, desk, chair, dresser and common refrigerator. Younger and older campers are housed in separate buildings to better meet the needs of those age-groups.
