Camp Amp

Julian Krinsky Camps & Programs (JKCP) and Canyon Ranch will once again be joining forces to give 13- to 17-year-olds a high-energy summer camp experience. Their goal: to develop smarter minds and bodies.

Canyon Ranch fitness instructors, exercise physiologists and nutritionists work alongside The Krinsky Camp staff, helping teens with the formidable task of choosing from more than 100 activities and workshops including Reebok Core Board, Bosu Ballyhoo, yoga, Pilates, meditation, kickboxing, journal writing and personal services such as neck and back massage, facial and skin treatments, personal training, nutritional counseling and private golf and tennis lessons.

"Everywhere you look, adults are trying to make up for the bad habits they developed while growing up," says Mel Zuckerman, one of the founders of Canyon Ranch. " We're offering young people a chance to become aware of the benefits of healthy living sooner rather than later. And, as we all know, the only way to get teens truly motivated about anything is to make it fun."

Flexible residential and day programs will be held at Bryn Mawr College in suburban Philadelphia. The three two-week sessions run from June 25 to August 5.

For the residential and day camp's on-campus dining services (directed by Bryn Mawr College Wyndam Alumnae House chef Bob Hudaka) and cooking classes (headed by Kristin Albertson Cooking School in Wynnewood), Uehlein adapted some of the most popular recipes from his spa menus.
