21st Century Leadership Skills

In today’s rapidly changing and increasingly global landscape, business leaders need to be more flexible, knowledgeable and resilient than ever before. Leadership in the Business World at Wharton introduces you to the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary for exercising effective leadership. Team-building, site visits, guest speakers and more!

Attend lectures and presentations from outstanding Wharton faculty and guest speakers. Previous professors have included Tina Wells, Anita Gelburd, Anne Greenhalgh, Lori Rosenkopf, Pete Fader and many more. The professors at the University of Pennsylvania summer program are engaging and looking to lay a good educational foundation you can carry with you through high school and into your college careers.

You will visit business enterprises and speak with successful leaders across the industries of finance, entrepreneurship, entertainment, real estate, retail and more. These leaders, from various fields, will speak to you about their career path and the skills that helped them get to where they are today. The speakers tend to be interactive and pass along sage advice which can help you understand more about the business world. They hail from startups to fortune 500 companies.

Throughout the Wharton summer program, you will also receive coaching on communication and team-building skills from six upper-level Wharton undergraduates who serve as Resident Team Advisors (RTAs). The RTAs are traditionally rising sophomores who have been handpicked by the Wharton undergraduate division to help lead the program.
