This camp offers a unique opportunity to take your game to the next level at Localhost Philadelphia. The goal of the summer camp is to help mold you into the best player you can be while helping you unlock your potential. With nearly $9 million dollars worth of scholarships being awarded from over 80 universities in the United States and $1 billion of prize money handed out in 2019, there is no denying that esports is a booming industry.

With that in mind, we created an immersive esports summer program designed to give participants a complete overview of the esports ecosystem. Students will have the opportunity to improve their skills on team-oriented games like Rocket League, League of Legends and Overwatch. Plus, during free play, practice your choice of games including Fortnite, Minecraft, DOTA 2, Starcraft, FIFA, Apex Legends and many more. Game training is supported by daily workshops focused on Communication, Computer Knowledge, Team Dynamics and Critical Thinking. During each session, students and instructors will choose their favorite game and train for an end of session tournament that culminates in a professional-grade, live-streamed championship match.

The Esports Summer Camp will consist of three major components:

Recreational play with professional instruction
Interactive lecture series focusing on career development within the ecosystem of esports
Tournament training and competition

During the esports summer camp students will:

Train with former professional gamers who have built their careers in the industry
Improve their level of play through skill and strategy
Identify their gaming strengths
Design, compete in and produce a professional grade championship tournament event
Explore collegiate and professional opportunities within the ecosystem of esports
Delve into all facets of the industry, through exposure to industry giants and workshops with industry professionals
Gain insight into career networking, esports team building, media exposure, tournament marketing and the business of esports

About 40% of students come from around the world to join us at JKCP each summer. Every year we hear how much students enjoy meeting people from all over the country and the world and how it opened their eyes to different parts of the globe.

Trips & Activities

One of the best parts of JKCP is the activities. Every evening is a planned event. Sometimes we stay on campus, and other nights we’ll travel to a local venue for an off-campus activity. Trips are offered every Saturday to regional destinations of your choice. And Sundays are for exploring the Philadelphia region.
